New! Access to ATLA Religion Database with ATLA Serials
The Divinity Library is pleased to be able to offer to VDS and GDR alumni/ae access to the ATLA Religion Database with ATLA Serials.
The American Theological Library Association's ATLA Religion Database contains over one million bibliographic records covering the research literature of religion in 26 languages. It includes article citations from 650 journals, essay citations from 14,000 multi-author works, and book review citations. Coverage is from 1949 to the present. The ATLAS Serials database provides online full-text versions of a core collection of major scholarly periodicals in the field of religion.
Access to Other Databases
We have long received requests from alumni/ae about whether you can access the library databases, but, unfortunately, the vast majority of databases licensed do not permit allowing access beyond faculty, staff, students and other on-campus users.
For a list of non-restricted resources that the library can offer for alumni/ae off-campus use, browse to:

Kesler Book Lending Service
For clergy and full-time church workers who are not close to a theological library, the mail delivery service of the Kesler service may prove to be useful. Alumni/ae living far enough away from Nashville that your alumni/ae borrowing privileges aren't realistic to use, you may want to register as a Kesler member.
Please note that our automated circulation system only allows us to define a patron in one category. You can have an active alumni patron account, or you can be a Kesler patron, but not both. Activating a Kesler account will mean if you happen to be on campus, you will not have an active alumni card to be able to check out books on site.
