"Judaica" is a term usually applied to books dealing with subjects of Jewish interest, regardless of whether the authors are Jewish or not. As a part of the Divinity Library (complemented by the holdings of Central Library), the Judaica Collection basically should include religious works, e.g. the primary religious texts of Judaism, in the original languages and translations; Jewish interpretations of the Bible; works on the Mishnah, Talmud, Midrash, Gaonic literature; works on worship and liturgy; and philosophical works. The area of Jewish history generally should include any book dealing with the history of the Jewish people up to 1650, and books dealing with the history of the Jewish people after 1650 if their major emphasis is the intellectual and spiritual life of the Jewish community or nation . Jewish major emphasis is the intellectual and spiritual life of the Jewish community or nation.
