Exhibit Case 1
The first exhibit case provides information about Charlie Soong's sojourn in the United States.
On the upper shelf are pictures of Soong, his wife Ni Kwei-tseng, and his benefactor Julian Carr; a letter that Soong wrote his father in June 1881, while the former was in Durham, North Carolina; and a description of Soong at Vanderbilt written by John C. Orr, a Methodist pastor in East Tennessee.
On the lower shelf are two articles on Soong, one from the Nashville Banner (February 2, 1942 issue) and the other from the Vanderbilt Magazine (Winter 1997 issue).
Mouse over the picture on the left to find the hotspots (they will be outlined by a black border). Click on them to see larger images of and more information about the contents of the case.
